hi, its been a long time and after some considerable pressure :) I thought I had better update the latest on the extension. building finished at day 47, we had some snagging bits done, general things really nothing of note. since then Tracy and I have been setting our hand to decorating. Living room painted a sort of pale blue, and we are nearly prepped for painting the kitchen. its been slow but the prep work has been time consuming and we have had loads of other things going on, hence the lack of progress and updates to the blog.
attached are some photos of the inside to get the idea of what we've done.

Day 46
the kitchen L shape was broken up and moved to a galley style today so it has really opened up the upstairs. Lots of faffing with the water meter and pipe work but they got there in the end!! the electrician was also upstairs wiring sockets and spot lights whilst downstairs carpenter fitted skitrting and doorways. Boundary wall also finished off outside. Looks like the build will be finished by end of next week.
Day 45
After a long may day bank holiday laying decking, the guttering going up and pipes to soakaway laid. Plumber hang the rads upstairs and the coving also done upstairs.
Day 44 - Friday 29th April
not just the royal wedding, more importantly the concrete floor went down also!
Day 42
Plasterers prepped the outside for render, finished off the lounge, carpenter did all the skirting upstairs and doorway.

Day 37
ooh, loads of real stuff happening today. double glazing in today - lots of topless men running around talking like market traders - Tracy took a trip to the shops to escape - mind you, we put penny down for a nap and the electrrician unleased the loudest drill to chase out the new sockets - it was louder than the tool to bring the whole wall down some weeks ago....eek!

Day 16
Well, into the fourth week and the walls are starting to go up now, beginning with the back retaining wall. Friday’s work was putting the oversight onto the footprint of the site, so now we have a complete concrete floor across the whole site.
The Digger also left us today.

Day 14
After a day out with sickness the work began again in earnest, in fact, everything that needs to go out is now out, and everything that needs to go, can now go in. The little stack of blocks holding up the house is now visible, exposed but standing strong :)

Day 10
Days 9 and 10 meant the back of the house was taken away. all that great 1940's building! the small square hole in the middle of the shot right at the bottom is a little blockwork supoorting the central loadbearing wall in the house. Next week all the remaining brickwork below our ground floor levelwill be removed and the rest of the footprint of the extension will be built.
